It usually has the longest lead time. The council's guidance names TaxiPlus as the route; check its latest requirements (workforce position, Update Service) and whether any other registered provider is currently accepted before you pay. We'll help you check.
Your next assessment opportunity could appear when you least expect it.

Independent, and we say so
Not the council, not an approved agent — the council has none. Operator details are published once verified.
No. PHPro is an independent application-support service, not affiliated with or endorsed by City of Wolverhampton Council. The council states it has no approved agents or third parties — including us. All licensing decisions are the council's.
No. We help you prepare a complete, accurate application; the council decides and publishes no guaranteed processing times. Anyone promising approval or a fixed timescale is misleading you.
No, but timing matters. The DBS usually takes longest, so most people start there. The council currently states your D4 medical must be dated within four months of your application, and that an application isn't processed until training is passed — you can apply before passing, but 'submitted' is not 'approved'. Use Find My Next Step for a suggested order.
City of Wolverhampton Council's published guidance identifies TaxiPlus as the route for arranging your Enhanced DBS (position 'Other Workforce [Taxi/Private Hire] Driver'), and applying that way also completes the DVLA licence check. Recent applicant confirmations have described other registered providers being accepted, so check the council's latest requirements before you pay. The council's page says to post all pages of the original by a tracked method, while some confirmations describe in-person verification — follow your own confirmation email. Register for the DBS Update Service within the deadline or you'll receive only a six-month licence. PHPro has no partnership with TaxiPlus.
It can. The council currently states that applicants who have been outside the UK for three or more continuous months since the age of 18 need a Certificate of Good Conduct (or equivalent) from that country. These can take time, so start early. We explain the requirement; the certificate comes from the relevant embassy or authority.
£249 one-off, as a single total with no VAT added on top. It includes a personalised checklist, DBS and TaxiPlus guidance, medical and training guidance, council application guidance, a pre-submission check and WhatsApp support for 90 calendar days, Monday–Saturday, 9am–6pm (UK time), with replies normally within two working days (Monday–Saturday). Official council, DBS, medical and training fees are separate and paid by you. You have a 14-day right to cancel — see our Terms. Nothing is paid through this website.
PHPro SlotWatch is a planned Premium benefit — not yet operational. It is being developed to monitor Wolverhampton driver-training availability so active Premium customers can be told about potential openings, at no additional charge if and when it launches. It is not currently sending any alerts; the £249 pays for guided application support. SlotWatch never reserves places or offers priority access, no slots or notification speeds are guaranteed, and you book directly with the official provider.
